Exile News is moving!

Hey everyone,

As you may have noticed all the posts have been all at the same time lately.  The reason is because I use Posterous’s Post-By-Email function.  Unfortuantly it hasn’t been working right lately.  Also with the upcoming internet radio station I need more flexibility then Posterous offers.

The new site is: http://www.exilenewsservice.us

Hope see you there soon!

Obama and Gay Marriage: Opinions Divide, and Sharply

Americans divide essentially evenly in their responses to President Obama’s new position on gay marriage, with views more strongly negative than positive and stark divisions across political, ideological and other groups – including a broad gender gap.

My Take:

What everyone needs to do is pull back and look at what the people of the individual states want and let it go. If you don’t like one state’s policy there are states that have what you want. This is not a national election issue, its a state issue.

Obama: Economy, not gay marriage, will decide vote

President Barack Obama says it is “hard to say” whether his new stance supporting same sex marriage will hurt his re-election. He says there’s a major difference between himself and Republican challenger Mitt Romney on the issue, but says the economy will ultimately determine the outcome of the election.

My Take:

Obama was hoping to use all this enercy that has built up to use against the Republican at thier convention. Biden blow that for him and the backlash from his own people now have him turning tale and running back to trying to attack Romney.

His new message is ‘Romney took bloated companies laid people off to make them profitable.’ That could be translated to ‘now matter how ineffecient the government gets I want to keep it the way it is and maybe throw more government at it some how make it more effecient?’

Cain, Bachmann to Meet With Tea Party Leaders for 'More Perfect Union Panel'

Former GOP front-runners Herman Cain and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) will meet with the leaders from three of the largest tea party groups in Washington on Wednesday to discuss the American economy and the upcoming 2012 elections.

Billed as “A More Perfect Union Panel,” the meeting will include leaders from TeaParty.net, Tea Party Nation and Tea Party Patriots. Tea party groups played a key role in the 2010 elections and are hoping to hold on to several seats that could be in jeopardy in 2012.

My Take:

This nothing more then an attempt to try to take over the Tea Party and bring them in the Republican party. People, vote your heart not for a party.

Is Obama Scolding The Media Because He’s Getting Less Favorable Coverage?

On Tuesday afternoon, Megyn Kelly‘s panel took a look at the commencement speech President Barack Obama gave at Barnard College on Monday. In it, Obama took a critical look at the media and its sensationalism. The panel noted this jab, and wondered if it had anything to do with unfavorable media coverage the president has received.

Heroin Dealer Kept a Trusty NYPD Officer Around

New York City police officer Devon Daniels has been arrested for regularly abusing his power to help out Guy Curtis, a convicted drug dealer who led the heroin-trafficking ring Pov City. According to wiretaps conducted by the DEA, Curtis went to Officer Daniels with questions like how to get “gunshot residue off your hands” and where to find “any working revolver.” The cop is also accused of running license-plate checks for Curtis, tipping law enforcement intel on arrests, and providing him a parking placard. Daniels has been suspended without pay, and stands charged with misdemeanors for illegally using NYPD databases.

Ramirez on Obama’s gay marriage flip-flop

Last week, Barack Obama finished “evolving” on same-sex marriage with his statement endorsing legalization. Entirely coincidentally, that was just in time for a big Hollywood fundraiser at George Clooney’s mansion that raised $15 million for Team Obama’s coffers after reports of anger in the entertainment industry began to percolate in the media. Two-time Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist Michael Ramirez captures the essence of Obama’s flip-flop on gay marriage for Investors Business Daily.

The Selfish Social Media Bubble

Unlike the Internet tech bubble before it, the irrational exuberance of social media, which may just reach its climax with the Facebook IPO, has kept its money pretty contained. When the dot-coms had their moment, we saw that money go everywhere. From hiring to lavish ad spending to just generally lavish lifestyles, the dot com bubble spilled beyond the techie world. This time around, however, our social media bubble has kept its money close. For right now, that seems pretty selfish. But when it all goes pop, it might not hurt so much.

Ally hopes to end mortgage woes with ResCap bankruptcy

Ally Financial Inc’s mortgage unit on Monday filed for bankruptcy and the auto lender said it will sell some international operations to help set it on a path to repaying $12 billion in bailout money.

My Take:

Why do I have a feeling that Ally Financial Inc. is going to ask for a bailout to help pay back its bailout money?

The bank said Ina Drew, 55, would retire after more than 30 years with the company. She will be replaced by Matt Zames, an executive from JPMorgan’s investment bank.

My Take:

How can anyone just retire on a $2 billion mistake? Shouldn’t they be help fincaially liable?

However, CNN’s Howard Kurtz seemingly broke ranks on Reliable Sources Sunday, slamming MSNBC’s treatment of libertarian author Tim Carney last week.

New ICBM missiles at North Korea parade 'fake'

Earlier this month at a parade in Pyongyang, the North Korean authorities caught the attention of a number of western experts by displaying what appeared to be six road-mobile inter-continental ballistic missiles.

But now, after a careful study of pictures from the parade, a team of German arms experts thinks the missiles are not quite what they seem.

Egypt Bill: Husbands Can Have Sex With Dead Wives

Husbands who aren’t into lively sex would have the option of making love to their dead wives under a bill before the Egyptian parliament. The “Farewell Intercourse” bill would permit a husband to have sex with his wife up to six hours after her death. Theoretically, women could do the same, but practical realities would be an obstacle. The strange practice was discussed last year by controversial Moroccan cleric Zamzami Abdelbair, who declared that necrophilia is religiously acceptable. An Egyptian journalist blasted the idea as a “catastrophe,” reports al-Arabiya. Could “the panel that will draft the Egyptian constitution possibly discuss such issues?” he asked. “Has the Islamic trend reached that far?”

My Take:

Extremist Islam now supports necrophilia? And this law will may it mainstream in Egypt? What the hell did the Arab Spring really bring?

UK, US seize 36 domains tied to financial fraud

British and US authorities have moved to seize 36 domain names associated with websites being used to traffic in stolen payment card data. The UK’s Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) said in a release issued today that the sites used Automated Vending Carts, a type of Web e-commerce software that allowed criminals to rapidly sell large volumes of credit card and banking account data.

Even if consensual, sexual contact with girl under 18 will be criminal offence

The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved tabling afresh in Parliament the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Bill, 2011, which would make sexual contact with a girl below the age of 18 a criminal offence, even if it is consensual. The Bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha in March last year, and sent to the Parliamentary Standing Committee, which suggested some amendments, including making consensual sexual relationship with a girl under 18 a serious, criminal offence, punishable with life imprisonment.
